About
Hi, I’m Ellen.
I’m the founder of AmberLuna Apothecary.
I’m a Medical Herbalist, advocate for accessible wellbeing, professional massage therapist, facialist and Clinical Aromatherapist.
I combine my rich toolbox of clinical, medical skills and integrated plant-based therapies to develop treatment strategies that help my patients feel at their best.
I have over 700 hours of combined clinical experience working with patients from all walks of life, so you’ll be in good hands.
My special interest is in supporting folks who are neurodivergent and/or living with mental health conditions.
I aim to help people manage physical, mental and emotional health to live life on their terms— and thrive.
I’m also a nature nerd and organic grower, making medicines from my home-grown plants whenever possible.
Approach
I work with patients in an integrated way, often alongside conventional medical treatment. I provide effective, targeted, preventative and root-cause led medicine to patients working with a wide range of health conditions. We will work together, addressing both the symptoms, and more importantly the cause of your health conditions.
My special interest is in supporting folks who are neurodivergent and/or living with mental health conditions to manage their physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing to live life on their terms and thrive. However, I treat and welcome everyone to my clinic and aim for it to be an inclusive, safe space for all.
Alongside my clinical herbalism practice, I offer organic facials, aromatherapy, deep-tissue and pregnancy massage. Patients can combine therapies to ensure the most tailored and effective treatment. During your consultation, I may suggest or recommend options for combining treatments.
AmberLuna is founded on the belief that wellbeing should be accessible to as many people as possible. That’s why it is a social enterprise. This means AmberLuna gives back to the community through low-cost and free workshop places and treatments to those who are normally unable to access them.
Medical Herbalism
Medical herbalism is kind of like going to your GP, but instead of pills, we prescribe plants.
As a Medical Herbalist, I have spent several years training in nutrition, anatomy, physiology, pathology, diagnosis and treatment planning, as well as a wide range of clinical examination skills and of course, herbal and plant-based medicines (also known as phytotherapy). This training is very similar to how doctors are trained in the UK.
Herbalists differ from conventional medical practitioners. I will work together with you in an integrated way to understand the full picture of your life, health and situation. This will help me develop tailored treatment plans that work for you. This may (and often does) include working safely with and alongside your current medical practitioners, medications and treatments.
Credentials
I have over six years of experience, two in-depth clinical qualifications, and over 700 hours of combined clinical experience working with patients in a range of settings. I am a member of NIMH and IFPA which means I’m a qualified Medical Herbalist and Clinical Aromatherapist. Scroll down to the footer to see my accreditation badges.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is a powerful physical and energetic form of herbal medicine.
In my massage and aromatherapy practice, I aim to create the space to allow my clients to reflect on their health as a whole, take deep rest, get creative with blending, and open up the space for positive changes to happen, physically, mentally and emotionally.
As with my Medical Herbalism clinic, I specialise in supporting neurodivergent clients with their emotional, mental and physical health, and use a variety of massage techniques and disciplines to provide the most relevant and beneficial treatment.
I work with deep-tissue, accupressure, trigger point therapy and Swedish techniques, and adjust pressure according to your needs. I check in regularly and do encourage feedback during the treatment - this makes sure that my clients receive the best massage for them.
I work with clients with various conditions and disabilities, pregnant clients, those with sports injuries, particularly addressing pain and tension. We address imbalances in mental and emotional health as part of every single treatment. The organic oils are a big part of this.
What to expect from a massage or facial
I work with my clients one-on-one to deliver nourishing, grounding and healing therapeutic aromatherapy massage and organic facial treatments. I create a bespoke, organic blend of oils for each client which is based on an in-depth, holistic understanding of the client's health needs. Aromatherapy works on mental, physical and spiritual levels through inhalation, dermal absorption and through positive, healing touch to boost the massage treatment and increase the benefits of each session.
What to expect from an online aromatherapy session
In my one-to-one online consultations, I also create bespoke aromatherapy oils, creams and other products to treat folks from all walks of life: engineers, designers, yoga teachers, busy parents, sports enthusiasts, project managers, puppeteers, musicians, massage therapists, retired folks and office workers.
Why choose an aromatherapy massage with me?
Many therapists use pre blended oils that are not organic and not tailored to the specific health needs of their clients. I will always blend a base oil and combination of essential oils from scratch, just for you. No two blends are ever the same! Our health needs change daily, so why shouldn’t our treatments change accordingly?
I am trained in a range of advanced massage techniques and pregnancy massage through approved IFPA centres, so you are in safe, qualified hands.
Workshops & group bookings
Bring your event to life with a sensory, herbal experience.
Making your own herbal skincare and learning about herbal medicines is a great way to bring people together, connect to nature, boost creativity and support your wellbeing.
Through my workshops, I aim to create a fun, creative space where anyone can come and learn about the healing properties of aromatic plant extracts (essential oils) and herbs alike as well as massage, and how we can use these safely to support our health and wellbeing.
I believe in a people-led approach, allowing workshops to focus on whatever the group finds most interesting that day. We cover topics such as plant chemistry, anatomy, physiology, skin health, perfumery, and throughout the workshops we'll use our senses to mindfully explore the different aromas and properties of the plants and oils we'll be using. I help clients to learn about .
I am available for community events, corporate wellness days, away days and bespoke bookings like birthdays or hen parties.
